On September 23 at Milford High School we had an incredibly special opportunity to continue to focus on relationships and also our deep appreciation for those who serve in our military.

Class of 2019 graduate Jacob Brehm enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and, due to the global pandemic, has not been able to return home or see his family since the start of the year.

Jacob’s younger brother Aiden Brehm, a freshman from Milford High School, received a special surprise when his brother Jake returned to Milford High School so the two could share an emotional and surprise reunion. Aiden and his classmates were walking around the perimeter of the school on a “mask break” when his brother came out to surprise him.

Aiden’s teachers, counselors and administrators, with special help from her aunt, Liz Hartley, MHS counselor, helped coordinate this meeting and create a moment that Aiden, Jake and all of us will share for a lifetime.
