Milford schools offer weekly COVID tests for students

MILFORD, CT – Parents and guardians of students attending Milford Public Schools now have the option to enroll their children in a weekly COVID-19 testing program.

Each Tuesday, students enrolled in the program will travel to a supervised testing location within their school, where Progressive Diagnostics will administer their test. Results will usually follow within 24 hours, Superintendent of Schools Dr Anna Cutaia said in a letter to parents.

Parents can access their children’s results on the online Patient Progressive Portal, and if their child tests positive, the school will ask them to keep them home until they receive further instructions.

“As a parent or guardian, you are responsible for reviewing your child’s test results and keeping them at home if they are positive,” Cutaia wrote in her letter.

The program will start on February 8, although registration will continue – every student who registered before noon on Monday will be included in the testing session the following day.

Children already enrolled will be tested weekly until the end of the program, although parents can unenroll their students by emailing [email protected].

Cutaia said in her letter that the school system has received a “strong response” from the school community in support of the program, and said anyone with questions about it can email [email protected] .
