MILFORD, CT – Members of the Milford Public Schools community will receive a free COVID-19 rapid test kit.
The state Department of Health is encouraging students and staff to take a test in the morning before a school system moves to mask-optional.
“Accepting a free test kit and then taking the test is completely voluntary,” Superintendent Anna Cutaia wrote in a letter to the school community.
The test kits will be distributed on Thursday, February 24. Here is the test distribution process:
High Schools: Test kits will be offered directly to all students during the school day.
Colleges and elementary: Testing kits will be offered to all parents/guardians upon departure (for those in vehicles waiting for their student and for walker pickups).
Hours after school: For families who were unable to receive a free test kit at the end of the school day, free test kits will continue to be distributed at the main entrances of Jonathan Law High School and Joseph A. Foran High School on Thursdays. 2/24, 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. This will be a drive-thru pickup. Directional signage and staff will be available to assist you upon arrival.
During school hours: If you cannot pick up a test kit during the above hours, test kits will be available for pickup from your child’s school during school hours, excluding drop-off times. Please visit the main entrance and someone will help you.
