Since the start of the school year, Milford Schools has been consistent in the message that students thrive and achieve best when they are in the classroom. All of the district’s efforts to keep students and staff healthy have been toward this goal. However, no one can deny that the Cincinnati Bengals’ recent historic run to the 2022 Super Bowl captured the hearts and minds of the Milford community and Bengals fans everywhere. Milford will join several other area school districts in deeming Monday, February 14 a day of calamity for students, with no distance learning required. Milford staff and students will not show up and the extended day will also be closed. During Heisman’s acceptance speech of Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, he spoke about helping the less fortunate residents of Athens County, where he grew up. In a similar vein – during the run-up to the Super Bowl and beyond – Milford Schools asked the community to consider helping those less fortunate by contributing to local Milford non-profit Feed Our Flock.
