Below is the full text of the letter sent to the school community:

Dear Members of the Milford Public Schools Community,

The purpose of this letter is to inform you of some enhanced security measures that we will be taking this week. Although there has been no direct threat to our schools, With great caution, we are working with the Milford Police Department on shared information which leads us to proactively increase police presence in our school buildings beginning tomorrow, Tuesday September 13, 2022.

Thanks to the strong partnership between Milford Public Schools and the Milford Police Department, we are actively monitoring and evaluating this situation. As a reminder, we have many layers of safety and security measures and protocols in place that all work together to increase safety in our schools. The increased police presence must include an additional layer to our safety and security protocols.

Again, the intent of this communication is to make you aware of the additional presence you will see tomorrow. To reiterate, at this time we have no threat against the Milford Public School Community. We will follow up with you on updates, if necessary.

As always, the safety of our students and staff is the highest priority for the Milford community.

Anna M. Cutaia, Ed.D.
